Title: Passenger Door will not lock?

Hi everyone,

ive got a 54 plate golf gti and Having a problem with the lock on the passenger door, for some reason it wont lock? i have tried key fob and key in the drivers door but can still open the passenger door from the outside! this does set the alarm off. is it a simple lock problem?? any ideas?

also have a airbag light up not sure if it may be related??

any advise would e grateful

it probably is the lock, but it would be a good idea to have a scan done to pin point where the problem is

I had the door lock problem too. Its an expensive fix at a dealer (i was quoted £340 by VW Morden, London)

But you can buy the lock mechanism from eurocarparts for about £90. I got one on this site for £50. If you don't want to fit it yourself its an hours labour in an independent garage £50-£80.

Cant help with the Airbag.

I have similar issue with passenger door as well, but mine would not unlock. Seems to be working fine for while after spraying WD40 on the lock. Worth to try, there are hole with rubber cover (lock picture on it).
