Title: Door mirror indicator lens
Post by: suave on February 18, 2012, 09:41:37 am
Guys

How do I remove my door mirror indicator lens? Is it simple enough?

I need to clean it from the inside as has got a bit moss coloured.

Thanks

The mirror indicator lens is a sealed unit so if you have moss in it there'll be no way to clean it.   :sad1:

Correct they are sealed.

Remove the out cover of the mirror, small surround........then all the insides. Easy enough, just a pain. You have to strip the whole thing to get to the screws to remove it.

I have elec/heated mirrors so have to remove glass, all the connecting wires.

Heres a guide on removing the lens, but as Bacillus says looks like you need a new unit  :happy2:

I've literally just removed my original clear indicators if you want them?

Thanks AT

If they're sealed then the slight bit of green must just be at the outer edge?

How did you get yours out please? Do they pop from the door side? If I can get them out I can check cleaning the whole sealed unit before considering buying yours.

Cheers

No worries  :smiley:  I used this guide;

Took about 20mins for the first one then like 10-15 for the other side when I knew what I was doing :) I only needed one size torx and a flat head screw drive, all explained in the guide  :happy2:
