It's struck me I've just been banging up the odd photo here and there, so I'll tie up something more permanent.
Spec:
Basically all options aside from leather/sunroof/Nav on a 56 plate GTI DSG. Bought in July '08 from a friend who'd had it from new.
Mods:
Revo Stage2 @ 265/300tq-ish
Milltek non-res & 3" downpipe
Custom intake gold wrapped and cold air feed from grille.
Oettinger turbo pipework
Autotech lightweight hollow ARBs (less than 10lbs the pair)
Whiteline anti-lift kit & fully polybushed front end
Speedline Turini 8x18s and 225 F1 Asymms
OZ Magnesium Monte Carlo 18x8 on PSCups
Alcon 343mm 4-pots with track pads & braided hoses all round, Motul RBF600.
Eibach coilovers
VF Engineering lower mount
OEM German spec LED tails
Car fully prepped and built by Votex.
It's all about go, handling and stopping for track days/ring trips/hooning - I'm happy with the looks it left Wolfsburg with, so no major cosmetic changes will be done.... bar the odd fun tweak!
Future mods:
Change grille - Porsche powder blue and some matte black bits
S3 'cooler & uprated hoses
Possibly in time I might swap the Eibachs for a fully adjustable setup, depends if I can transfer them to the next car to justify cost.
Anyway, some pics. I'll get some nice static ones when I get chance.

these are the exact pictures he has on his facebook :s his name is Jay Wesson
-
love it! :happy2:
-
Hmm - his name doesn't ring a bell but he's obviously snaffled them, as they're my pics. I might know him by a forum name, maybe from UK-MKIVs or Club GTI?
Can't say I'm too bothered, so long as there isn't a sinister reason why he has them - ha ha! Ask him how he knows me/the car?

Ready to go out to play, with my mate Mike (who owns VW Speed) running chase cam in his stripped 4-mo. I really must get the videos off him and post them up..

Nice pics :happy2:
Especially lovin the night/rolling shots! :drinking:
-
Stunning shots as always TD
-
Fabulous phtography and a really nice subtly modified car :happy2:
The LED lights really suit the white and the offset of the wheels makes them sit perfectly in the arches too.
And I guess it goes quite well........
-
Very nice!
Nice to see car built built with the intention of go more than show :happy2:
Bet it dont hang about!
-
Cheers,
It's obviously no match for the ED30 boys, but it handles great - surprises a fair few things on track for sure.
-

-
Looking nice Mike.
Are you keeping the Brawn colours for a while, or are you feeling a bit blue. :happy2:
-
Cheers,
I've another spare here, just trying to find the right code for the blue paint to start work. I need to think of somehow doing another suble touch of blue somewhere to tie it in too.
-
Is this the blue your going for. :innocent:
This little chap on your bonnet would go with the theme. :signLOL: very subtle :rolleye:

-
Been sniffing about for 'Ring pics..
Linked from www.e40racer.be - trying to get in touch with the dude to get a high res, as it's a great shot!

Great Pic! :happy2:
You got gloves on there Mike? :chicken:
-
Yeah, he sent it to me for nowt too, keep a note of the site for your trip. There's plenty appear on Northloop too.
I always wear gloves on track, very thin karting ones like these linked. Stops the wheel slipping when the adrenaline gets the old sweaty palms going!!
I find the cheaper ones best, as they tend to have less padding/material so there's no loss of 'feel'. Mountain bike gloves are good too.

-
Love the rolling shots and the one on the ring :happy2:
-
Very little body roll there Mike, you've either really got the handling sorted or you're a pu$$y !!!!!! :signLOL: :signLOL:
-
Ha ha, in the interests of a fair opinion, ask the passenger seat ballast next time you see him.
25mm hollow race ARBs = win.
-
Few in Inters Martini livery. There might be a cheeky home-made mod for the eagle eyed too..

-
Looking good, like the air feed in the fog grill, very trick :happy2:
-
....
Methinks it would look even better if that 'Martini' striping was also on the other wing.
-
I like the subtle martini stripe, I would have tied the stripe in with the red gti strip or u shape on the grill maybe changing that to blue to match onto the martini livery if that makes sense.
-
Ahh, the stripe was only ever a bit of funsies for Inters - bit of leftovers, so we slung it on mine.
It'll be off soon, too many people looking at the car and I prefer to remain stealth on the road. The new grille trim is being prepped.
-
Couple from Oulton on Friday - car was lapping in the 2:10s on road tyres, with the back stripped out. Never missed a beat.

Cool pics :happy2:
Has that red GTI got any suspension mods do you know? It seems to have a lot of body roll.

Looks like he has it sliding in the first pic! :driver:
-
looking good mate . realy need to get my mk5 back out on track .
-
RR, that's SteveyD's red ED30 - standard kit bar a Superchips stage 1 map and some DS2500s.
Tracking is the best fun!! Next up is Cadwell Park in October Gill, I'm trying to convince Mr Eyre to replace Donny with it, seeing as they're so shakey.
Oh, I may have a little project on the go, if all comes off well on Friday - TBC.
