Title: Just installed my RNS-510 coded but habe some errors?

Just instslled my RNS-510 i used VCDS to code it to the car using this guide

Did a scan afterwards and still getting the odd error

clear the others in the unit

make sure navigation is coded in the gateway

As for coding for navigation in the gateway I have selected navigation isn't that all I need to do?

Post by: vRStu on February 19, 2012, 01:16:30 pm: It looks to me like there is/has been a break in the CAN to the Nav. If this doesn't clear then it will need investigation but it's possible you caused it during the install so it may clear.

Have you got anything else fitted that piggy backs the plug to the radio?

Post by: smokey on February 19, 2012, 03:21:08 pm: The only thing which is also plugged into the RNS is the cd autochanger cable. I haven't got the cd autochanger plugged in though as its not working so didn't bother coding it to use the cd autochanger.

One thing I did wonder was when following the coding guide it shows you how to set the factory amp up. How do I know if I have one or not?

As for the soundsystem i have just selected Volkswagen Sound System ( i guess this is correct if i dont ahve Dynaudio)

Good news is i have been able to remove some of the errors, i will post up the new scan later on tonight.

Think its just something i've not or have selected

I have set the SDV volume to the highest in the sound settings and have even found the SDV settings in the secret menu (not too sure what to do in that section)

whilst driving i did look at the Can option in the secret menu and my speed (in kph no mph?!) was being registered in the RNS so the can is sending the speed info to the unit.

I have read on a different forum that it could be the older can gateway that I have. I've done the fimware update to the RNS to prevent battery drain and keep my current gateway which is version E
