Title: Number plate spacing

Ok I'm confused with all the law on spacing so someone might know I'm looking at buying a private number plate b3nmp could I space b3n mp or is that illegal

The law is pretty straightforward, only B3 NMP is legal

What could happen if you display incorrect number plates

The police can issue fixed penalty fines for illegally displayed number plates. Offenders could face a maximum fine of £1,000 and in some cases the number plate may be withdrawn.


Vehicles with illegally displayed number plates may fail the MOT test.

Why not get the plate anyway and jsut change your name to B3 NMP. That way everyones happy!

Maybe I am harsh but incorrect spacing on reg plates to me reads 18y/o chav  :P

Good job I'm not incorrect spacing then :happy2: must be alot of 18/Chavs in BMW x5 and Clk god dam rich barstewardss  :fighting:

No those are not chavs, they are either daddies boys or not yet wealthy enough to have the reg AND the car  :grin: :grin:

Talking about private reg's, I used to go to school with a lad whose dad dealt in private plates, one of his sons had BOD 1E "Bodie" and I was told the other had DOY 1E (DOYLE) although i never personally saw that one, his mum had B1MBO and he had NEW 1 amongst many others i forget about, nice gig if you can get it  :happy2:
