Title: replacing rcd300 and ipod cable

I have an issue with my rcd300 and it does not recognise my ipod anymore (work fine while I had car for 2yrs) tried it on another ipod and nothing. On vcd it mentioned errors with cd changer and they were cleared. Still not working.

If I replace the rcd300 with another one would it need to get recoded through vcds.

P.s using genuine vw ipod cable

Whixh part would you recomend gets replaced?
