So I want to retro fit highline and MFSW but I want to keep the red stitching genuine Edition 30 wheel - so are they as rare as hens teeth? Do I need to either buy one from stealer (400 quid) or accept that if I want them retor fitted I need to just buy a normal GTi wheel/Mk6 wheel?
Thanks.

There is currently a Mk6 wheel on eBay with the red stitching, but you will also need to buy a new airbag:

Or you can have your wheel re trimmed with red stitching and new leather for about £100 at RoyalSteeringWheels.com

Berg, I PM'd you mate MFSW is an easy retro fit I did it myself and you keep your wheel.
The Highline needs to be coded by someone like Shark and when I was quoted it was £400 for all new parts.
MFSW is easy to do you just need the two wheel inserts and as you have no DSG the controller for it to plug into.
Oh and coded mine was all ok.
I would fit Cruise while you are there.

cheers aled,
J - i have cruise already and have been told can only reto fit to wheel if you are DSG

Correct - the manual steering wheel is built differently to the DSG one. The DSG one has "hollows" in the arms or spokes of the wheel and the wiring is there, so literally plug'n'play. Manual steering wheel means having to buy a whole wheel with mfsw already fitted. If you want ED30, you have the option of buying a GTI one and getting it restitched.
Definitely rare. I've been in the same situation but at £400+, I've not bothered in the four years I've had the car.

Thats right, i rememeber discussing with you via PM. So shall we do a group buy (of 2 lol) on Gti MFSW and then send to same place to get restitched?

There's only £30 difference between ED30 and GTI ones according to the prices I got from SteveP! Depends on the price of a GTI MFSW!

This together with a highline cluster would probably be the biggest group buy of all.
