Not sure if this is possible or indeed what it would look like but has anyone done this? I have a std black 5 door which i plan to get the rear lower bumper colour coded. While its in the sprayers i was wondering if the honeycombe parts could be done at the same time. The std plastics always seem to take on a greyish look and i would rather they matched the rest of the car. Any Thoughts? :driver:

I have recently thought about getting the honeycombe sprayed gloss black, but that's because i day dream a lot and have nothing better to do with my time.
But anyway back on topic, it will be expensive as there is a fair bit of prep work if done correctly. And then you need to consider stone chips. if a stone hits right on the edge then i can see a chunk falling off.
Would look good though. :happy2:

Stone chips would be a problem i agree. Maybe the other option of carbon fibre at the front might be better.

I have had the honeycomb sections colour coded gloss black and I think it looks pretty cool, it's not so obvious in the pics but looks really good in the flesh. Here's a couple of pics:

....
I'm afraid that I think it would look awful. I think you might just about get away with a gloss black but the glossy black grill on the Mk6 GTI looks very bling in the flesh (IMO).
EDIT: Can't really see what yours looks like from the pics, k6kny.
I've seen pics of it done chrome - Guess where! U S of A of course. It looked worse than awful in my opinion.
I think I put Back-To-Black on mine some time ago and now it remains black no matter what gets thrown at it.
ETTO
Your post makes no sense at all. you think it looks awful but the next sentence you say he may get away with it, then you compare it to chrome :stupid:

....I missed the fact that the OP said his car was black and so was expressing my opinion that a coloured grill would look awful as would a chromed one.
I'll remove my post as it's confusing.

IF in gloss black, I think it's the kind of mod which is best judged in the flesh as far as my opinion is concerned.

The upper grille is gloss black but the lower one isn't, which doesn't look as nice. The mk6 grille looks lush in gloss black.
