Hi All,
I've got an 07 plate GTI, with a full Alpine system. Headunit, amp for the speakers, sub driven by a second amp. It was professionally fitted by the previous owner.
It sounds great, but the issue is there is a constant high pitched whine, which varies with revs. It's clearly interference of some sort. Has anyone else come across this, and have any idea how to begin sorting it?
Cheers!

Can you borrow a ground loop isolator to test? I used something like http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/GROUND-LOOP-ISOLATOR-GOLD-PLATED-CONNECTORS-/140500004951?pt=UK_Computing_CablesConnectors_RL&hash=item20b673f057
I had a similar problem when I had run my VGA camera wire down with amp cables, one of those helped until I eventually swapped out the VGA cable for a properly insulated one.
If your audio wiring is easily accessible just have a quick look make sure nothing is loose/touching other wires.
