Just finished fitting my itg intake. Can feel the difference over the Carbonio which the car came with.
All went well apart from cracking my engine cover when removing it :ashamed:

Sweet but you need to realign your oil cap if it's not loose.
-
fitted a ITG maxogen on the mk6 and it makes a whistle noise above 4000rpm.
anyone know how to reduce this?
-
Mine dosent whistle. Have you checked all the jublee clips, might have a leak somewhere
-
yeah everything is tight and the pipe is sitting flush and as far up on the MAF as possible
its a kind of squeak/whistle high pitched noise
-
It might be the sound of the turbo spooling up. I had a high pitch squeel when I had my intake fitted when under wide open throttle.
-
well i can hear the turbo spooling up much louder now even when just feathering the throttle at a steady tow speed. i get a slight whoosh when lifting off too which i would have expected and don't mind but the squeal is a bit much.
I've had a look on a few forums and its a pretty common topic but i didn't expect the VWR/ITG intake to sound this 'unrefined' especially with it being a closed air box type.
i bought it used so decided to take it off and clean and oil it today anyway
