Just want to share how proud I am for Tfsi_wife for keeping her cool & keeping control of the lupo after the rear tyre exploded @ 70 mph on the a50 westbound this morning. Not sure how I'm picking the Cupra up from BCS as the tyre took out the back bumper and taillight with it. :sad1:
Anyone know any silver lupo rear bumpers in the scrappys?
-
Waiting for RAC that charged me £250 to renew after not sendings a renewal letter to germany.
If if been a few miles further out of Staffordshire and into west mids could've had a visit from our very own big al lol
H- agency were spot on as were the police closing the road / lane the RAC have been toss so far

She did well Mike. Happened to me years ago in a Nissan and it is scary! :scared:
-
Hope she's okay. Was the little'un in the car too?
Would be interesting to know what happened.
-
She did herself proud by the sound of it, blowouts are no fun, I had one on my truck a few months back, never had one on a car though

Well done to your Missus! :congrats: :congrats: :congrats: :congrats:
But really glad she not hurt.
Was it a case of "I thought I heard a bang behind me... Oh well, never mind" and keeping her foot down, or a case of snaking and opposite locking!? :driver:

I've seen her panic when an animal was in the road but this was "bang" some thing clearly wrong, held the wheel with 2 hands, off the gas and nursed it to the edge. Was no hard shoulder or lay by though :scared:
Highways agency got the police to close the lane quite promptly after my 700yd run to the SOS phone. As we were just beyond a sweeping bend. I must've had Harry out I the bak and over the barrier onto the bank in under 10 seconds.
