Title: Whats the difference between a std GTi and an Edition 30?
Post by: andygo on February 26, 2012, 10:55:15 am: As far as I can see the differences are:

Engine.
wheels
brakes
colour coded plastics.

Are there any more differences? I have my eye on a 30 but would like to know all about hem before I buy.

Speacial edition 30 interior (half leather half interlagos) golf ball gearknob
Ko4 turbo insted of ko3-engine produces 230 BHP insted of 200 of normal GTi, big tuning potential for edition 30
Few other things in the engine like injectors etc etc
Could coded bumpers and side skirts-think the front splitter may be different too but not 100%
Special BBS pescara alloy wheels
Sill protectors saying edition 30
Limited production numbers on edition 30 of around 2500???

Post by: alexperkins on February 26, 2012, 06:29:29 pm: Interesting. When I worked at VW the ED30 had just launched and the release brochure said stiffened and lowered suspension, though this could've been in relation to the standard golf as opposed to a comparison to the GTI

Full leather is a PITA anyway, too slippy and cold.

No.. get a ED30, if you buy a normal GTI you will regret it.

I've had my Edition 30 DSG since last Monday and, after some initial hiccups, I'm loving it :happy2:

I've had both and the ed30 is simply the better car imo :happy2:
