Title: RNS 510 and Parrot 3200 LS
Post by: Billy on February 26, 2012, 09:35:27 pm
Golfman (Scott) did a top job of fitting my RNS 510 today - big thumbs up for his work :happy2:

I bought my car last Monday as an approved used car from a VW dealer and the previous (and only) owner left a Parrot 3200 LS bluetooth kit fitted to the car.

I had paired my iPhone to this Parrot earlier this week and it worked fine with the sound coming through the cars speakers and the head unit displaying 'PHONE' on it.

With the RNS 510 fitted the sound from the Parrot is no longer coming through the speakers. WHen I receive a call it pops up on the little Parrot screen saying who's calling but with no ring ring coming through the speakers etc.

Anyone got any clue how to sort this one out?

Sounds like a wiring issue with the RNS510.

Phone mute plus the +ve & -ve Audio will need to be connected.

Is been a while but if I remember correctly the mute wire as currently wired in your quad lock connector has the wrong termination to go into the correct position for the RNS510 so you'll probably want to buy a repair wire.

Cheers Stu, I'll just need to find someone to sort this out for me and I can show them yours and Eddies advice on what to do.

I'd just break something if I tried it!

You need to remove pin 11 TEL MUTE(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.tyresmoke.net%2Fattachments%2F625175-RCD-300-BVX-pinout.jpg&hash=2a09d4cf5c9cd6aa19d644b750cc3c8e0c083243)

And place it in pin 10 connector 3 (https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.my-gti.com%2Fwp-content%2Fuploads%2Fconnectors_rns_510_main_N91-10928.gif&hash=f471ed167c2c807075f679af3b1cc69f8259079c)

You'll need a small connector and housing to put in there is it probably will not come with one.

Darren

PS just get Scott to sort it if he gets stuck I can talk him through it :happy2:
