Title: Bristol VW Dealers - Any good ones?
Post by: smokey on February 27, 2012, 03:44:03 pm
Hiya Guys

I was wondering for those who live around the Bristol area. Are there any good VW dealers around?

I'm just planning for when i need my car servicing and MOT? Or are there VW specialists in the area who are good?

I went into Heritage the other day asking about a RNS manual and the guy on reception wasn't that nice or helpful.

Also does anyone know if TPS in bristol will do over the counter cash purchases.

Thanks Guys

RNS "510" is pretty simple to navigate around, what info is it you require (if 510 specific)?

Hiya

Sorry this wasn't just for the RNS!! I was using that as an example.

I wanted to know if there are any "good" dealers in the area. I'm asking as you hear some bad things about cetain ones.

The car will need Servicing and MOT later on in the year so i'm just wondering what peoples experiences has been and if there are any good one in the area?

I use Heritage in bristol. Never had any problems, been great handling warranty claims with both communications and quality of work, this was a brand new engine installed in 3 days (including ordering parts!). Always kept me in a courtesy car as well without asking.

Don't know of any independents in bristol although I'm sure there are loads. I've had good experiences hence me staying with them. I try to bypass reception... Just deal with servicing or parts (unless you meant the service reception?)

Be interested in other peoples opinions of any good independents though?

Heritage are fine IMO. I've used Vee Wee before as well in Bedminster & can't fault them either  :happy2:

Wicked thanks for the replies guys.

Yeah it was just straight reception, so should have just missed him out.

Have you both used Heritage for Servicing and MOT? Not heard of Vee Wee are they a specialist VW garage?

Thanks

Hiya Guys

Thought i would revisit this thread as i only have 1000 miles to go before my car is due its service.

So far the options are Heritage or Vee W Services

Are there any others?

Thanks

I can also vouch for heritage. Pretty spot on bunch and normally price match to other dealers.

Prob a bit far out for you but Vallis autos in Frome are quite good. Not VW specialist as such but couple of the guys had/have performance vw's and they run a mk2 golf race car. Never had any problems taking my corrado there (prob the amount of money i spent tryin to keep it on the road!). They know their way round a vw.

You can also try Streetwise Automotive in Lawrence Hill.
They are an independent VW specialist - I use them for my Ed30 every year.
Excellent customer service, they also happen to be a revo dealer and are adept at fitting aftermarket bits and pieces.

Thanks for the replies guys.

Phoned up Streetwise Automotive and was given a quote of £190 for a service, inlcuding long life oil too. so was quite happy with that.

Booked in for next Saturday. Think i wil stick with the T&D service though. Can't belived i've done 10K since October!!
