Hey Folks
Whilst cleaning my car today I couldn't help noticing that my calipers are fading and turning a lovely shade of pink :sad1:
Now as much as I wouldn't mind having pink brakes I would much rather them be red again, without resorting to spraying/painting is there anything I can use polish wise to get them back to they're former glory???
Cheers

I've used SRP on them to good effect

And be sure to wax/seal them when your done as this will keep them redder for longer!

or speak to 'more than just wheels' who did mine.

Cheers guys I'll give them a go with SRP when I take the wheels of for a clean next week :happy2: I imagine my Colli 476 would be fine to use as a wax?

Tbh I think it will be a waste of time waxing them as they get far too hot for any wax, even wheel wax.
-
Even high temp sealants that go up to 250*C?

Depends where/how you drive your car?!?!?
Cam't see my calipers getting hot on every day use, I only use the brakes as lightly as possible in normal driving!
When your on track maybe, but not all of us spend our lives hooning around at brake neck speeds on track!

Pardon my ignorance but prey tell what is SRP?

Autoglym super resin polish. From your local halfrauds.

Just dawned on me that..... :ashamed:

I cleaned and polished/sealed mine with fk1000p in the summer - came up well for a 57 plate, the sealant makes them much easier to clean with the hose pipe now

I used a paint cleanser on mine, namely Lusso Revitalising Creme then topped with Coli 845. That was sometime last summer and there still rosy red. I wouldn't say I drive slow either.

...........have you been spraying loads of acid type wheel cleaner?.
-
Ben's normally quite sensible with detailing.
-
Haha cheers Stealth thats the first time i've been called sensible in a while
But no I only use Bilberry wheel cleaner on my wheels mixed around 10/1 :happy2: I may have been a lil over the top with my original post as they havent fully faded yet but you can tell they are starting to go and its something i'd rather get sorted now as opposed to leave until they get worse :happy2:
I shall whip the wheels off next week and give the SRP with a coating of 476 (may aswell give it a go as im there) and see how they turn out, I shall do a lil write up and post the results :happy2:
Cheers all

Well you're not on COD much these days but in our previous chats, you did come across as sensible.
