Title: Parking sensor issue
Post by: paul896 on February 29, 2012, 05:28:20 pm
Hi all

Pretty new to this parking sensor malarchy, but my parking sensors have packed up today. I have a2007 GTI DSG, so when i pop it in R, the sesnor beeps (as noraml) to say it is on but then completely flatlines as if i was backed up on a wall or something, but there is nothing behind me.

any ideas? maybe one of the sensors is loose? I thought someone might have hit the bumper but there is no visible damage on it!

Normally that's the sensor itself just unplug each sensor at a time till you find the one at fault

they were working fine, and then I had to park outside as my flat mate was using the garage.
It wasnt a cold night, and suddenly it flatlined....literally. went  to the gym last night and they worked fine, then got home afterwards and they died again.

Is it difficult to get at the sensors to disconnect them?

If you have access to VCDS is will tell you which, if any, sensor has failed.

I dont so i will either have to bring it to a garage or try and do a DIY on it

PS I was reading your car stats thing VRSTU, your car sounds sweet!! Very off topic I know, but she sounds like some beast!
