Hi all I know some of you have been wondering why ive not been on so thought it only fair to speak out,
Right well the car has been having some money spent on it and not in the modding dept :scared: first the turbo :fighting: 3 f%$£ing times then the clutch and now the cylinder head  so Ive decided to let it go and recoup some of my money?
The car is in excellent condition with a massive spec and over 200bhp to boot still getting 45-50mpg I will NOT be breaking the car for any parts it will be going has it is.
I will be keeping the car and sticking a for sale sign in it at the VW Festival in August @ Harwood house.
I know im being optimistic has I know my mods will not bring any money but ill be putting it up at £6.5k with realistic offers.
I'm not getting back in a car at the moment, my mode of transport for work will be my new mountain bike a Cannondale Trail SL1. I'm now saving every penny to move house then once I move ill be back in a VW but something new a nice spec'd mk6 GTI the prices will come down a bit once the mk7 comes out :happy2:
So there you go ill be still around but not doing much for the moment, ill be still doing some coding if someone needs anything and can pop round here.
Cheers for the time here and hopefully ill be back in a VW quite soon.

Darren, it's sad news indeed to hear about your car. I've been following its progress for a long time and I'm sure it has inspired many.
Everything happens for a reason and I trust you'll move on to bigger and better things in the future.
All the best mate.

Coltons nice mate :happy2: Yeah sounds like a plan, I'll PM you nearer the time

Sorry to hear the troubles your having with the motor.
It must be so frustrating given the amount of effort, time, love and money you've put into it! I dont think what you're asking for is unreasonable either, given that its probably the best specced MK5 you could ever set eyes on.
Good luck with your move & i look forward to see many brilliant mods on your next project :happy2:
-
Im sorry to hear about the problems you have been having with your car Darren. I cant thank you enough for all the work you have done on my car. Without your sound knowledge i wouldnt have the auto levelling on the xenons, cruise control, RVC, Polar FIS etc etc.
Glad to hear you wont be leaving the forum completely.
Hope the house move goes well mate and im glad your back problem has improved :happy2:

....It's in the lyrics from the classic Eagles song "Hotel California" - The lyric is at around 4:50

^ Good memories for me - I had guest tickets to this tour when it hit London's Wembley (long story).
Jo Walsh is the dude in the bandana - Great guitarist in his own right and only joined the Eagles around this time.

I have my eye on a nice gti but don't think the other half will be pleased

....Just prepare yourself for her 8-step reaction:
1. Shout and Rant
2. Kick in the nuts
3. Make sleep on couch
4. Make feel guilty as baby is due in 8 weeks (or any other equivalent she can think of)
5. Stop giving evils after 2 weeks
6. Allow to sleep in spare room
7. Grudgingly allow back to bedroom
8. Back to normal
And then enjoy the new car!
