I've got a black 3 door gt tdi 170. I will be having some work done soon on my door when I find the right body shop.
And I'm thinking of having the bottom part of my rear bumper de textured and colour coded at the same time.
What do you all think?
Also I quite fancy getting some Genuine side skirts , wheres the cheapest place for these please with all fittings etc. I'd get these colour coded aswell.
Cheers

side sKirts - try TPS

Definitely get the rear bumper colour coded, makes a big difference to the look (in a good way of course :happy2:)
-
the rear valance looks better painted :happy2:
-
loads better painted... mine is black and painted looks a lot cleaner...
-
in the process of rubbing mine down just now, hard work getting it smooth!!
-
When you rub it down what are you using and how far do you need to take it back?
I have a new one in the garage along with my new side skirts (the pre-primered ones were £200 per side more) so I have got some work to do!
-
use 120 grit , rub down till dimples smooth , filler primer, then smooth down with 800 grit
-
Does it unclip? Or do you have to remove the whole rear bumper?
standard GTi bumper
-
You can unclip with the bumper fitted, but if you remove both bumper and valance, it's very easy.

Ok cheers mate. Am off next week so think am gonna get the rear bumper colour coded and get some annoying little things sorted out on it before the bad weather turns up! Cheers man

Planning to paint my lower valance soon. Where's the best place to get paint? Obviously looking for a good quality and a reliable colour match to flat black.
-
I would defo get the rear valance painted , going to do mine when I get a chance
-
I've always wanted to do it to the GPS. But she won't spend the money of the spray job
-
