Title: RNS 510 not finding correct signal :( help!

Hi peeps

My rns510 doesnt find the roads correctly :( it did yesterday but today its jumping around trying to find the right road then picking incorrect ones! Ive driven round for the last hour or ao with no luck!

Whats wrong with it? How do i sort this? In supposed to use it going london to liverpool tomorrow :(

Press the map button to bring up the map view. Press it again and you get a window. In the window, select GPS viewer. It tells you things like altitude. Crucially it tells you how many satellites you can pick up and it needs 5-6 to get adequate lock on. I'd argue that on a long and open stretch of road it should find them fine.

So it's not picking up any. Either there's a problem with the GPS antenna, or there's a problem between the antenna and the satellite.

Bear in mind there's a solar flare at the moment which will interfere with GPS operation.

i had the same problem, turned out the guy who had fitted my GPS aerial had done it upside down against the metal roof! i got one of the guys on here to move it to behind the steering wheel and it worked a beaut! i highly suspect thats your problem.

I'v been trying to help him this evening and it worked when we turnt the engine off and back on. Found where he was and tracked his position. Turn the engine off/on and it lost all signal. Moving the gps antenna all around and didnt pick up 1 satellite.

Thanks for your help guys but still isnt working :( just drove with it stuck to my roof (felt like an undercover cop) and nothing :( not a single satellite!

Anyone have a new gps thingy for sale lol

Ive bought it, spoken to Eddie-NL and im going to go there next week sometime for a new gateway and updates etc. KTLSTAR you wana come with?
