Title: DBP ED30 - Lowered and Milltek fitted
Post by: AndyED30 on March 13, 2012, 11:20:11 pm
Just endured my first winter with the car and been battling against the M1 daily filth that seems to stick to it! Gave it a good foaming, clean, lime prime and three coats of wax to start to get it back in order. Good to see the protection I gave it last year seems to have done the job. Milltek getting fitted together with a Sachs clutch plate & cover asap! Excuse me for the obligatory underground car park shots  :signLOL:

Post by: AndyED30 on March 25, 2012, 07:20:35 pm
On a trip to APS in Brackley to get my Sachs clutch fitted I thought it would be rude not to add some H&R 30mm lowering springs and a cat-back Milltek. Love the way the car feels now, not too much stiffer than the standard springs but hugely improved the handling and the Milltek really makes a difference.

APS offered a very knowledgeable service with no nonsense................can't recommend them enough!

Brakes on the agenda next!

Yeah its looking good cheers Nath, coming together nicely! Plenty layers of wax on there you'll be glad to know.

It's pretty quick already   not sure of the bhp but with the revo, cai & Milltek it doesn't hang about and I guess it's approx. 300 or maybe more. I'll have to get it on a RR sometime and find out.

Clutch is spot on, it's the 400lbs one from Sachs so a little heavier but after a few miles it's starting to be quite smooth. The one that came out didn't look in bad shape either, glad I didn't run that one into the ground just in case.

Brakes next, not sure to go good quality disks n pads upgrade or something more heavy duty  :signLOL:

I like the look of this Miltek, but hate the fact that you can see the backbox from behind, or is my imagination. What size are the pipes?

That exhaust looks mahoooosive  :congrats:

Just a small point, i would try and get some black number plate screw covers, it will make it look much neater (ocd sorry)

Welikeaps:

Yeah the back box can be seen when you get down low like I did to take this pic, only visible when you do though and still loads of clearance from the ground. The pipes are 80mm standard Milltek as far as I know..........i'll have to measure them!

Rich:

As your a Hemel local feel free to drop some black no. plate screw covers round anytime  :signLOL: I'll gladly accept them.

Cheers Pete!

The Milltek is resonated so not loud, don't want to attract any unwanted attention.

I've got Revo on already, but I'm a bit dissapointed to be honest! I am planning to use panel filter instead of intake, seems alot of money for an intake, when VW spent 000s of hours working on the standard intake.

Stage 1 or Stage 2? With the intake just check out the 'for sale' section, I've not been on here long and have seen plenty of good 2nd hands ones on offer.

Its stage 1 currently, I have just had TBE exhaust fitted.

Just waiting for stage 2 now.. Still looking for an intake to come up.

Anyways, back on topic :)
