Does anybody here know how much lower the GTI and R32 sit compared to a standard golf!
Thanks Jack
-
The gti is 20mm lower than the standard golf. Not sure about the r32, it may be the same.
-
How about the height difference between the Sport golf and the R32?...
-
is the GT Sport the same suspension as the GTI or different?
-
The GT Sport is the same ride height as the GTI well my 58 plate was!
-
so am i correct in thinking you could use the stock GTI springs on a GT sport too?...

The engine weight difference between the two types may mean they use different types of springs !
-
oh buggeroo...lol. best find some 2.0tdi gt sport springs then!

Nope :happy2:
As previously said the engine weights etc would be different. The GT Sport basically had it's suspension tweaked to give the same results as the GTI
Anyway
What are you trying to achieve? Then we would be able to advise you on what you need to do :happy2:

lol
baaasically... my 1.9tdi sport has the same suspension setup as the 2.0tdi GT sport (55mm bump stops/ride height etc etc)
and i'm looking to replace my suspension springs...but on the el-cheapo as i was hoping to get a set of used ones which people may have taken off their GT Sport's (when upgrading to coilovers etc).... to fit to mine...
-
Yeah I suppose it is do-able but you need the springs off the facelift GT Sport (the one with the GTI bumper but different grills) but you will only get a 15mm drop.
But tbh your better off keeping an eye on ebay or here for a set of either Eibach sportline springs these would lower your car to the same height as the GTi or the Proline springs these would lower your car to the same height as the GTi with a 30mm drop :happy2:
But please don't quote me on the above drop heights as my memory is a bit rusty
-
nooooo! lol you misunderstand
i dont want to drop the car...i drive like too much of a maniac - car would bottom out endlessly with the bumps around here!
the car already has the sports suspensions, i'm just looking to replace my springs out for stock ones again as i'm currently at just shy of 155,000 miles...
-
Oh I see :signLOL:
But generally the shorter springs are usually stiffer too
