Hi Guys, I'm looking for some replacement OEM pads, and vwspares.co.uk seems to be the place to go, as the dealers charge £63 which is a bit much tbh.
Question is, none of the front pads on this site show my engine code (which is BWA), does anyone know which ones are correct/if any of them are? I'm far from an expert in this sort of thing but I would have thought front pads were fairly standard across all GTI engines, and that pads for different codes may be OK. Can anyone confirm?
Brakes page is here: http://www.vwspares.co.uk/golf_mk5_brakes.php
Secondly: The brand of these pads is TRW. Is this correct for OEM replacement? I would rather have the official OEM than the OEM 'replacement' ones which I've heard to no be great. Where do you guys get your Official OEM parts from if not the stealers?
Many thanks in advance guys. :happy2:

use code GGTIUK25 for 25% off

I've heard that ECP only do the 'replacement' OEM ones, and are nowhere near as good as the official ones (Even though they're the same brand)? Anyone got any experience of this?
Thanks for the reply though pal.

i hope that's not right because I just bought a LUK clutch kit and DMF :chicken:

hey buddy,
perhaps give your local TPS branch a call - some will deal with the public. you should get OEM pads for cheaper than the dealers.
Hope this helps.

last time I went to the dealers they told me it's 15% brake pads this month

I bought pagid brake discs and pads from ECP and they are absolutely fine. Certainly a lot sharper than the worn brakes I took off!

check your PM if you definitely need OEM

This is great, thanks for all the help guys

just to add, i got a set of OEM brake pads from TPS for £37 all in - they had a special offer on at the time. If you do call TPS, ask if they have any offers on :happy2:

yeah, it was back in November. TPS were doing a 40% special offer. Got OEM front pads and discs for £114 inc VAT.
Rang the dealers on the same day and they quoted £194 inc VAT. Perhaps the dealers wearnt passing the savings on??
Thats why its worth asking TPS if they have any special offers on when you ring it...
