Title: Are remaps good for your car ???
Post by: shepmyster on March 19, 2012, 02:44:11 pm
I wondered if having a remap will effect your car, meaning because it boosts everything up and makes it run at it's highest performance, does this effect the life of your car ?

shouldnt if its a safe map, although the normal things tend to last less like brake pads  :signLOL: and other stuff needs to be looked after like your oil etc etc basic maintenance.

technically yes, more wear and tear on the consumables of the engine brakes, clutch and what not.

But i know someone who has done 140k on stage 2+ with no issues

In general it does cause more wear and tear, but as long as it's a safe map I can't imagine it would ever be noticable.

Just stick with tried and tested tuners to ensure the boost, timing and fueling is all set sensibly and not for out right figures.
