When i go to start my car when its warm, it some times takes a while to start up. when its cold it fires up first time, but once its warm it takes 4 or 5 turns. Anyone any clues ?
-
which engine...which year... how many miles...
its a very common issue on tdi's, i had it on my 1.9, a new starter motor fixed it...
-
1.9 tdi lol and thats what the sound is lol so it sounds like a might need a new starter motor ;)
-
get the battery checked by a motor factors / parts shop first of all, that may need replacing too if your cars getting old... mine did, replace that with a good bosch battery, and then get yourself over to your nearest andrew page and get a Bosch starter motor for your car on an exchange basis - make sure you ask for a trade discount (the birmingham/aston branch give trade discount to joe-public!) and your good to go!
-
Ok ill give it a go, what do you mean by joe-public lol and how much do you think it will all cost ?
-
Same issue with mine, bit of a pain but not worth the expense of changing it yet.
-
mine does...
bloody annoying :(

It's common mine does it do does my mates I've tried changing glow plugs and battery still there been to garages all said its normal

mine had this issue from when i bought it, the only thing which 100% fixed it was replacing the starter motor, i think the cost all in was around the £100 mark, plus whatever your garage charges you to fit the starter motor, although in all honesty it could be done at home...bear in mind the starter motor is an exchange unit with most places, get a good quality one though...
