Hi again
further to changing cam follower ,do i have to set T.D.C before changing it..??
Thanks
-
Mine was done without setting TDC.

It is recommended as part of the process but it isn't necessary. It is there so that the cam lobe (which is egg shaped) is at it's thinnest point. This then removes any tension on the pump piston & spring.
It's mainly so you don't damage/bend the piston when putting it back together.
When i changed my pumps from APR back to OEM i never bothered with setting TDC :happy2:

Cheers Buds

The best way of refitting the pump is to place the pump in the recess and loosly fit the screws. Then just gently tighten each screw in turn and it will go in without any bending or damage.

i also think if you set at tdc there is minimal compression needed on the spring when re-inserting the follower and doing back up the bolts on the fuel pump.

Just be careful when tightening the bolts and don't exceed the spec torque setting.
