Title: Need to buy brakes today
Post by: nezquick on March 21, 2012, 08:44:28 am
Hi, I need new brake pads for the mk5 gti standard brakes as mine have little life in them.

I would like a pad that is better than oem and don't mind paying a little more as I will be fitting them myself for the first time under my friends dad's exmechanic-exracingdriver-super-hawk-eyes so will be a interesting experience, I'll probably end up making the brew but at least I'll learn.

A website link to where I can make the purchase would be lovely too  :happy2:

 :drinking:

Thanks!

The EBC green stuff are a good next step up upgrade from OEM and benefit in less brake dust

I've heard a lot of negative reports about EBC brakes.... Do you fit a lot of them PSI?

Our most popular ones here that customer request and we fit are the Ferodo DS2500's but have no wear indicator and arent currently 'insurance approved'

"and much hard on the mk5" ? to fit?

Sorry all our prices are discounted as much as we can offer

Sorry, are they hard to fit on the mk5 gti? that was me being stupid! Which out of the two would you recommend? and how much is it for front and rear? I can only see front pads.

Thanks, always worth a try

Brembo have recently released HP sport pads which are all the rage and comparable to a DS performance pad (the ferodos are £116.23 inc vat for fronts compared to £106.92 for the new Brembos

Nothing specially awkward fitting them on the Mk5

PSI how much could you do front and rear HP sport pads for? failing that how much for a EBC red front and rear?

I would also be interested in prices for the new brembo hp please.

Front pads for R32 mk5 setup
Rear pads for GTI 286mm setup

Also, can you get hold of mintex 1144 pads, and if so prices for the above.

Thanks

Thanks.

R32 and GTI have the same rear brake pads don't they? Different calipers, different diameter disc but same pad?

Depends on the branch - they are 'supposed' to be and some will turn you away, but the Exeter branch has always been fine. :happy2:
