Title: Tyre Width
Post by: AndyS on March 23, 2012, 01:10:10 pm
I have got myself a new set of wheels 5x112 7.5 x 18 ET45

I know the standard tyre for this wheel should be 225/40/18, but will a 235/40/18 fit and not cause any problems ?

Thanks for your time

you could run that size tyre but why would you want to when a 225 fits so nice

235/40/18 may rub a little on the arches, depending on how low your car is. 225/40/18 tyres are much more affordable and are the OEM size VW put on the golf's from the factory.

I want to fit Neuton tyres because of the great rim protector, and the only size they do is 235  :rolleye:

The car is not lowered, on standard springs and shocks
