Title: Worth it or not?
Post by: jp_lcr on March 26, 2012, 08:25:35 pm
Evening all. Picking up my new Gti Friday. Registered 1st March 2006 its got 6 disc changer in glove box and MFSW sorry don't have head unit name.

I have been quoted 230 for adding ipod doc into glove box and 245 for Bluetooth telephone prep at main dealer I'm buying from.

Are these good prices? Or am I better collecting as is and then retro fit with help of the good peopleof this forum? Based in Sheffield

Thanks in advance.

JP

I think the bluetooth they offer is like a parrot kit. I saw this priced at £245 when i was booking in for a service.

You really need to see a local forum member with the RNS510. Then if you want to add the proper phone kit at a later date you won't have wasted a load of cash. I wish I'd have done it right first time.

The RNS510 is amazing, and with the right phone prep it's superb!

.....then at a later date you can also add the reverse park camera in the boot handle and view everything on screen   :happy2:

Haha oh no this is what happened on scn and all my money started disappearing

You are right though to do it once and do it properly. Guessing from for sale section looking at around 400 for rns510 plus other add ons would total for setup you mentioned be towards 6-700?

I have satnav on mobile so was looking at this as good value interim with streamed satnav voice from phone.

You living in London mate, noticed the link for Dynamic, use to go there when they where based on the high street.
