hmm heard of this poor boys alot on here, i take it the stuff makes you poor? i use auto glem super resin on my LC9Z and it looks good, got a linky thingy for poor boys?
-
Yep, Black Hole is excellent stuff and very easy to apply. Try using AG SRP before it, then your choice of wax on top of the glaze.
-
Mines LC9Z,,, Just been reading on a detailing thread about autoglym SRP, says to use a clay first whats that ?

I must admit i thought the AG resin polish was a wax as it goes on so easy and gives a great shine and finish, what wax should be used on top of the SRP?
-
think its down to personnel taste really, some people liked the ag hd wax but i prefer the pete 53 waz

Find a wax that has good reviews and thats in your budget. It's all much of a muchness really and the only variation is the longevity and the hype!
For Black I'd go with Dodo Juice Purple Haze. I'd choose that because it is reasonably priced and is a real pleasure to use! :happy2:
-
Black hole has excellent filling abilities if you want to mask the swirly wirlys :happy2:
-
it looks like good sh*t, just ebay'd it £35 for 250ml :surprised:
so im now gonna sound very stupid, please bear with me and point out anything im doing wrong
First wash car
then use AG super resin polish
then use dodo juice purple haze
stand back and enjoy???
is that right?
-
Yeh pretty much. Some mild clay would make a whole heap of difference to and only takes minutes to do! :happy2:

Clay lifts stubborn paint contaminants and leaves the paint ready for further work.
Rub over car with a lube (quick detailer or diluted shampoo).
I will find you a video :happy2:

Did you read it and watch the video Keano posted??
No, T-Cut is an extremely harsh/crude cutting paste designed to remove dead cells and clear-coat from the surface of paint. And more than likely will just scratch more than anything else. Clay removes contaminate's such as Tree sap, Bird lime and tar without scratching/damaging the top coat. It then prepares the surface for polishing and then waxing.
-
Did you read it and watch the video Keano posted??
Yes I did and don't recall seeing a comparison to T-cut, That's why I asked the question
Thank-you for answering it in detail .... :happy2:

If you havent used clay before you'll be amazed.
It's the biz for allowing the polish, glaze and wax to do their jobs properly.
Try Ben at Rubbish Boys - his postal service is fantastic (and he's a nice guy).

I'm claying for the first time this weekend. I've been out and bought the Megs Smooth Surface Kit. Really looking forward to giving it a go. I'll be polishing with SRP, then glazing with Black Hole then waxing with Collinite 476s.

-

Sorry about the thank you... Fat thumbs :signLOL:
if you have a MotorBitz dealer, all poorboys products are available on their shelves.. :innocent:
-
Already got and used poorboys black-hole after using AG resin, just looking for a better sealing wax, preferably of the shelf ,as I've got a day of work and it's a dry day
-
So is it best to fork out on a paint correction or would poorboys blackhole achieve a similar result ?

I used AG resin polish followed by the poorboys black hole which is really good stuff it masks all the swirls and light marks.

Earlier in the thread reccommendations have been:
AG SRP
Followed by poor boys black hole
Followed by dodo juice purple haze or collinite 476s
I'm new to all this too, but going to give the above a go (with collinite).

Yep, but you can't get either of these products off-the-shelf in Halfords. If I absolutely had to buy it from Halfords it would be either the Megs NXT wax, or Auto Glym High Definition wax.

Got some poorboys nattys blue wax, managed to find some of the shelf but not from halfords, and finished the job off before the heavens opened and
when it did rain the water just ran straight of the panels, so well pleased, they had the 30ml panel pots of the dodo juice for £6 so may give it a go to see if it's worth
splashing out £34 for the 250ml...

Nothing better than rain on a freshly waxed car
