some barstewards community enforcement officer gave me a £60 pound (or £30 if i pay in 14 days) for parking over the bay on the top floor of the car park when it was empty.
:fighting: :fighting: :fighting: :fighting: :fighting:
I mean use some ****ing common sense and think "ok well there isn't anyone else here, it is late at night I doupt there will be over 100 cars at once looking for a car park space for the midnight munchies and all want to use the very top floor... Fair enough I probably shoudn't of parked over the lines but seriously, at that time of night and that empty a car park on a monday night I seriously doupt I put anyone out..Its a bloody scam!! Im half tempted to challenge it but for the sake of £30 I think ill just pay.. and theres no one you can actually speak to. It says to pay call our automated ****ing service line

Unless its clearly stated that you are not allowed to park over lines and it says that fines in place for those that do you should challenge it.
I got a parking ticket years back for allegedly parking on double yellow lines, the fact that the lines were hardly visible (very worn and covered in dust/dirt) I took pictures and challenged it and won.
-
if he's got a photo of you or cctv can see the car then you took 2 spaces you have to pay for two spaces regardless of how busy the facility is
thats the view they will take dude...
i got a ticket this week for being 3 minutes past my ticket deadline :fighting2:
-
:happy2: Ill get my friend to look at the rule list thing, It was well after 6.00 - free parking so technically I wasn't paying for any tickets :innocent: Well thats what I think, I think they must of seen me parking as the ticket was shortly after I parked up. Such a b*llend whoever it was, he must of literally had nothing to do or a bee in his bonnet because he got the late shift.

Hope this helps :happy2:

:happy2: cheers Ill have a read of that, although it wasn't a private company it is a council owned car park and issued by a community enforcement officer so doupt theres much I could formally do. I've never paid a private parking company and never intend to - the worse one I had was £120 for going 20-something minutes over the max stay caught by automatic plate recognition - wrote three letters, none answered so refused to pay - one year down the line and nothing - simples. But being a council ticket / not private company ticket I don't think Ill get away without paying. :fighting2:

Spoke to a lady on the phone who thought I should challenge it, so I am. Apparently there is meant to be a degree of common sense used when issuing a penalty by the council so I will be using that as the main point - failing that I will put it forward to the so and so (forgotten-ops) who have the final say and are seen as a non-bias company but 67% of all challenges are won when common sense hasn't been used etc etc.. so its looking slightly hopefully. Worse comes to worse I will just have to pay (it seems so petty but thats £30 or £60 towards my next mod!) and I looked at the photographed evidence.. he could of at least made them a bit more artistic! and he took them so close up to the car you cannot see the rest of the car park

lets see the pix then :popcornsoda:

Ok here they are - I have to admint I may of been over the bay line a little, but seriously? even if someone had parked next to me they would of dinged my car because they wouldnt be able to get the door open that wide, I think in one of the pictures it shows Im only about a tire over.

apparently its very clearly stating that no parking over the bays :signLOL:

and the others are him trying to take pictures of my plate with flash on and off :happy2: one of them shows the exhaust is just on the line meaning I was what - a few inches over? and in the first picture you can just about see the white line lining up with my grill.. You'd think with all this money they'd be able to afford a better camera.
Im tempted to put "bay line? what bay line? i don't see any bay line.. it looks like I parked perfectly in the middle of the bay" and see what reaction I get :P

* theres a few more but all have me plate in it :chicken:
-
and this is the generic reply I got, apparently even though they can email you back there they can't send on any information about the answer to your challenge in a email  they don't even sign a name so you can never actually talk to someone properly Although the girl I spoke to on the phone was very nice and friendly.
Thank you for your email, so that your comments can be considered in accordance with the Council’s correspondence management procedures for Penalty Charge Notices (see link below), I would be grateful if you could supply by return a full postal address as unfortunately currently we are not able to respond to Penalty Charge Notice correspondence electronically, (although we are looking into development of this aspect of the service):

hows that?
-
As you say. A bit petty and no common sense. Must be trying to get the revenue in before the new financial year
-
the shots that have your car clearly shown over the markings are from the front yes?
...you have no numberplate on the front yes?
numberplate required to prove it was your vehicle?

None at all - review or commision I dont know the principle still stands that no common sense was used when applying the penalty. At the end of the day, I would accept the fine if I was causing a public obstruction causing people to have to drive around and around to find somewhere to park loosing the car park money but that wasnt the case. Plus it happened right after I parked so im presuming I was being watched on CCTV which begs the question why didnt he or she approach me before I walked out the car park and said "excuse me sir, to warn you as stated on this small text somewhere at the bottom of the crapply placed sign you shouldnt be parking over the bays can you please move?" to which I would of replied "of course good sir"
Yes VC they show me over the front but not really the side, the issue is me going over the line down the centre of the bays to divide them. no plate on the front yet its in the window but he's taken photos of both so can't really get away with saying "thats not my car"
they sent back another email saying Dear Sir/Madame despite all my emails saying Mr *facepalm* so i don't actually know whether im just getting emails back automatically or someone is writing them. They told me I had to wait 14 days even though I was told to expect a reply within 48 hours :stupid: I think i will also mention that the picture he has taken of the sign does not clearly state that I wasn't allowed to park beyond the markings :stupid: makes me want to win more and more

if its not a parking ticket from the council then dont pay it i had a few off UKPC never paid any of them they wont take u to court either as it cost too much for them there is an article on the moneysavingexpert website about paying parking tickets
-
Hi nezquick, I take it the penatly is from Bexley. The Notice to Owner forms from there are invalid, according to the parking adjudicator. I recently challenged a PCN notice and won. Do you want the details?
You only get the notice to owner form if they reject[ignore] your informal appeal.
Bexley council are notoriously bad for ther parking controls.
