We have a Royal Mail Business account, cheaper than post office by a fair bit (cheaper than Franking machine), one of purchase of printer (£300) then all labels supplied free by Royal mail, best savings are on overseas mail (where we sed approx 55% of our items) and the savings compared to post office are around 35%, well worth it when you spend around £27K per year with the post office  :happy2:

What pisses me off about the Post Office is all the uninvited junk mail they stick through our letterboxes!  :fighting:

Just catch your postie 1 morning and tell him no more junk mail through your letterbox and anything saying "The Occupier" to bin it, I did this 3 years back and not 1 bit of junk in my letterbox since!, it also helps to tip your postie at xmas  :happy2: that way they look after you.
For recorded mail he signs them for me if im out and posts them and for soecial deliveries he leaves them with my neighbour so i dont have to trek 4 miles to post office for them  :notworthy:

You don't do the trick of using their enclosed freepost envelopes to send them some junk back then??

Great satisfaction.

Yup, its the way forward alright, we have a P.O. Box for returns and they even send those to us so we dont have to pick them up  :happy2:

My postie changes every couple of months. I'm not gonna tip 6 posties a year.

It all goes straight from my letterbox to my paper recycle bin - Easier and quicker than sending back etc.

Something is not right if you have to tip your postman to stop him putting crap through the door.   :stupid:

If you repost someones sh*te in another persons envelope they have to foot the postage bill.  :happy2:

True but it does mean you have to spend time opening the cr$p and posting it, we had the same postie for 5 years.

As for tipping your postie, if that means no junk mail and him signing your recorded mail and leavin special deliveries with the neighbours saving you a trip to post office in town where its impossible to park due to tourists, well I am more than happy to drop him £25 in a christmas card each year  :happy2:

I always RTS junk mail. It's surprising how quickly junk mail decreases when they have to pay the return postage.

Totally agree but junk mail is a necessary evil for the Royal Mail as the money the companies pay for the S**t to be delivered helps Royal Mail's bottom line and keeps the price of stamps down. I believe i read somewhere they were "allowed" to raise the price up to £1 for 1st class but settled on 60p. Last year some 4 billion items of junk mail were posted to us, incredible amount.

i tip my postie not just for the junk but for his service dude  its important to my business and my postie often goes beyond his normal job description for me, he often sends new clients my way that he finds on his rounds, and what that man doesnt know about local things isnt worth knowing - its why we nicknamed him "the oracle"

....I'm gonna try that - Bring it on!!

A small effort which can easily become adopted as habit, will be very satisfying.

^^^ just remember to cut your name and address from what you send back or they may have someone evil at the other end who then makes you their hobby

when i used to get junk i would also add things like crisp packets, sweet wrappers etc etc - theory being they send me their rubbish so they can have mine - make the envelope as heavy as possible
