Just had the car MOT'd at Lookers VW Teeside, its failed on the following:
Xenon headlights set too high, £45 to adjust (£5 at a local VW specialist)
onsole bushes snapped, not sure if its the rear or fronts but theyve quoted £450 to get sorted! (Local specialist has quoted £65 fitted for the fronts, £75 for the rear)
The seatbelt retensioner on the passenger side isnt working, £291 to have that fixed! (Local specialist can only supply the part, does anyone know how hard this is to DIY? Or anyone know any specialist that would be able to do the work for less?)
And an advisory on the NSF tyre, 1.6mm tread left
So im looking at nearly a grand to have it sorted by VW! Bad times

that's how they get you - Audi offer free MOTs but then they smack you with a big bill. last time i got lucky it was only £250, and i got MOT protection for this year so hopefully nothing funny should come up...

Have a look at the seatbelt and see if it looks dirty on the webbing. Sometimes dirt on the belt can restrict it's return back into the casing.
£5 to adjust the headlights is a silly cheap price - It's not worth them getting the gear out for that. £45 will be probably 20 mins labour.
To do console bushes properly it should include tracking, looks like the Indy left that off. Again £65 fitted seems too cheap unless that's each side.

Vw bristol adjusted my xenon lights for free when I got a service there.... They also fitted 4 threshing to alloys that I provided free. I guess dome dealers are better than others. Hope you get it sorted for cheaper than a grand! :happy2:

I was surprised how cheap the headlight adjustment was, and I did tell them they were Xenon lights. I dont think they quoted tracking so ill make sure thats done. And yes its £65 each side, still way cheaper than the main dealer!

There is of course another option -

Volkswagen Servicing. Quality service at a competitive price.
It does have an expiry date on it as an offer but I'm pretty sure it's a general practice.
