Title: Satnav still has power with ignition off help please

Hi all,
just brought a gti last night will upload pictures etc later, just went out to start it and the battery was dead, jumped it and found out when the key is out of the ignition, the sat nav unit still powers up and even when the car is turned off you can still hear the disc spinning in the unit,
so is it fault satnav unit?
faulty wiring?

Is it OEM Sat Nav?  MFD2 or RNS510?

If it's OEM it can be powered with the ignition off as it is switched by CAN.

There is an issue with RNS510 and later SW which requires an upgrade to the CAN Gateway.

switch the unit on with the ign and then turn the ign off and take the key out, it should turn off if it doesnt then there is a chance you have a faulty gateway or it could have been wired wrong if you get my meaning
