Hi all,

I need to change the RCD300 in my 07 plate golf gti. I'm looking at preferably the RCD510 or an aftermarket head unit. Will I need to do something with the CAN BUS with either replacement replacements and if so what is the cheapest solution i.e. modify wiring, get adaptor etc.

Depending on the version of gateway you have it may need changing to avoid battery drain, iirc you need a rev' k or newer.

After a phone call it appears that the only issue is with installing a mk6 radio into a mk5 car. Could somebody tell me what I need for my 2007 golf gti (i.e. adaptor/new unit) and where it is on the car!

Need Gateway as mine's the olde C revision
Part# is 3c0 907 530 anything M or later?
