Hey guys, need a second opinion on these 3 settings for Justin's S3. He originally had 957 which AwesomeGTI set for him, took the car down to TC Garage to have his THS cooler fitted and they dropped the timing back down to 4, so its now at 947 (B/T/F).
IMO 947 is good for Justin, however Justin can notice a performance loss down in low revs since the timing has been dropped, so we was hoping to bump the timing back to 5 but from the logs its not good.
I also set the fueling to 5 to see if it helps (955)
I set the S3 BTF back to 947 as i felt this is safe!
To be fair the car is quick, and a nice 4.2 seconds 0-60mph
-
Sorry I cant help with settings advice but may I ask what inlet its on?
-
Try 948. Healthy maf readings.

Inlet??
-
Panel filter, itg, forge, dbilas
-
ITG :happy2:
-
Healthy maf readings.
Indeed...

Think my peak air flow is quite low compared 238 iirc

Your MAF reading cannot be that low mike.
-
Have you tried turning the boost down to 8?
Heres what I have with mine. .
I'm unsure wether 856 is better, as very little pull, but 956 has quite a bit, but all 3 or under which from what I understand is ok?
278.5g/s
856

Heavy, what are u driving?
A lot of guys say they turn the boost down to prevent wheel spin. The S3 doesn't have that issue, but my 957 figures compared to the 947 are like chalk and cheese!!
-
It's all about fuel 9. I run 959 on the Revo race file with the hybrid.
Dom, try 858.
-

I will confim later Keith emailede the log
-
235g/s mike. The VAS logs showed 845kg/h MAF.
Wouldnt worry about it mike. It makes good figures, pulls like a train.
Did you remove the ITG heatshield? could be inhesting hot air

I always thought the higher the fuel number, the leaner the engine runs. So was better to run richer to aid with cooling? My Afr was supposed to be spot on with fuel 6 on dyno?
I'm at a rolling road day in morning, so no time to do any datalogging :sad1:
-
My car has always had lower maf readings than most but yea i've removed heat shield
-
dont forget MAF readings dont take into account all the other tweaks such as timing advance/fueling etc plus they are only a guide.
Yours is bloody quick mate, there is no doubting that.
-
:signLOL: who's car are we talking about here?
With those graphs, would u guys recommend I stay on 947 or go to a reputable tuner for more rolling road sessions and logging to get the best out of her? :chicken:
-
Sorry :ashamed: I like your Maf readings lol
-
Why don't you try boost 8? Gave me loads of zeros!
Might be able to knock the timing up a bit after, always worth a try
-
OK thanks, may give that a try
Sorry :ashamed: I like your Maf readings lol
What is so good about my MAF
What are your readings like?
It's amazing how different every car is?
How the hell do some people run a 977 or above??
-
Alledgedly, get you peak maf reading and divide by 0.8, roughly gives your bhp
your peak is ~274, mikes is ~235 thats why.
-
:signLOL: that isn't too good for me either at only 342bhp going by that calculation
-
What's wrong with 342
-
Stage 2+ S3 is normally around 360 or am I dreaming?

Depends on what dyno. Take it to JKM and you'll get 330Hp on average, very unlikely to get 340hp at stage 2+ there. Take it to other places and the minimum you'll get is 360Hp possibly more. Which one is correct.... who knows. Its fair to say thjough that pretty much alll the stage 2+ cars are about the same performance despite the big differences in figures that they give on various dynos
-
Sy, I can always trust u to burst the bubble :signLOL:
What are your touts then on the 0.8 MAF equation?
-
Thoughts not touts damn IPad!!!
-

Its a rough estimate. Normally quite accurate at stock stage 1 level. From what i gather the higher the level of tune the less accurate from what i gather. Still a pretty good estimate of how it works. One of the tuners would be best placed to talk about that tbh
in all honesty, whether you have 330Hp or 360Hp a stage 2+ TFSI is bloody fast. Mikes makes mine feel pathetic
-
What sort of BHP are you hoping for when all the work is completed?
-
Ill be happy with 250Hp on dynodynamics rollers. That'll be 40Hp up on my pevious setup. APR think thats not even touching the surface of what it can do and are aiming at 270-280hp :scared:
-
Monstrous poer to weight
Are we going to lock horns again :signLOL:

i know when im beaten, so ill not be going against you in this car
so you'll have to live with the shame of being beaten by me driving the Golf cart :P
-

I reckon with your new setup I'd stay well clear with any K03 car :signLOL:

dunno, i have zero traction right now and DSG issues :sad1:
-
Quattro conversion next
My mate with his 500bhp RS is considering the 12K it'll cost him to do it :scared:
What 1/4 mile times u expecting though??
-
Below 13.5 is what I'm after

845 kilogram/hour = 234.72 gram/second
So about right if my maths are correct
But as said your happy with it :happy2:
