Title: timing belt kit

Hi folks,Ive just purchased a 57 plate edition 30 and Iam going to replace the timing belt for piece of mind however Iam  finding it hard to source one, none of the local motor factors have them in stock and niether do euro car parts. can anyone tell me if the ed 30 is the same as a ordinary GTI? I am assuming it is. there is a brand new kit and water pump for sale in the classifieds for a 54 plate gti 2.0FSI turbo. will this be the same as mine? thanks

Why not purchase from VW or try your luck at TPS?

You want to change it for peice of mind but are willing to use potentially second rate parts  :stupid:

Don't forget the bolts for the engine mount as well.  :happy2:

Kit for standard GTI available here in Belfast for less than £100. Ed30 kit might be a bit more expensive but worth checking here I'd say. The dealer does mail to GB too.

Thanks for your replys,I didnt try my local vw dealer as they are very pricey,I wasnt aware of TPS but will give them a try tomorrow, just to verify the kit is the sme for the ed 30 and the stanard GTI?
