A big thank you to Dave at PDT for arranging the map, and also to Tim, Andy & Alex @Storm Developments in Reading, who spent a lot of time and effort today sorting my car out.
I'll do a proper write up once I've driven it extensively, but suffice to say I went in with 177bhp at the fylwheel, an engine warning light, split DV and 158lb/ft torque, and left 5 hours later with a Rev D diverter valve fitted, 239bhp and 250 lb/ft torque. An increase of 62bhp and 92 lb/ft! The acceleration is superb, pulling hard in all gears, and feels genuinly quick now. But what got me was the diesel-like torque when pootling along on the motorway in 6th, and putting my foot down, and it just flies!
:congrats: :congrats: :congrats:

It's that diesel like torque that ruins your clutch :sad1:
Mine slipped straight away after the map, on the motorway and now does it from time to time (generally when the weather is cooler).
Sachs clutch is next on the mod list

Cheers Conan, well chuffed, just been out for another drive! It's like a different car, it feels like it has the power to match the chassis now. Amazing. 330Ci driver went for it at the lights and was despatched with ease!
There were 2 fault codes, 1 of which related to not enough boost being created. When they tried to map it at first, they were asking it to achieve a certain boost level, and it consistently fell short, but by a linear amount, if you know what I mean. Changed the DV, and it was the old type with the diaphragm (split), changed it to REV D and it was fine. The light didnt come on again during the whole day, so hopefully all is fine now.

Cheers Nez, I'll take you out in it if you like before you decide on your map. Thoroughly recommended though.

Ian, i would be delighted to take a trip in your automobile to see the difference. i have to admit i am very excited by the resukts and will need to have a good chat with you about it. really glad your enjoying it, looks like your onto a winner with that one

I'm stage 1 with K&N panel filter and pre-cat removed from the exhaust.
It made 248bhp and 311lb/ft on R-Tech's rollers and 241bhp and 270lb/ft on JKM's rollers. I think it's always wise to budget for an uprated clutch after a remap (at least if you have a manual) :sad1:
I had my old Focus ST remapped and within 2 days that was slipping it's clutch, same story for two of my friends with diesels too :scared:
Then again, GarethB on here is at 255bhp with no slip, same with a few of the ED30 owners on here. Luck of the draw I guess. . . .

Excellent news. I'm hoping to get mine done in the next few months if all goes according to plan.

Hi Ian,
Glad you are happy with our software and the service from the lads at Storm. Must have been a huge difference going from a car with a failed DV to a healthy stage 1 ! If you ever need tech support or future help and advice just pick up the phone or send us an email

Glad it was something minor and not history repeating itself with the V64motion, all you have to do now is pop round fora cuppa to show me this new beast :drinking:

Thanks very much Dave. It was a thoroughly enjoyable and interesting day. It feels like a totally different car now, and I'm going to use the guys at Storm for my brake upgrade and future servicing. :happy2:
