Audi RS3 - Sprint Blue - New Car Enhancement Detail

Hello Guys, Its another lovely Audi RS from me! This time it's a brand new Audi RS3 in Sprint Blue. A rare car indeed, I think I'm right in saying the only RS3 in the country in Sprint blue.

The owner (who lives over 100 miles away from me) made the trip up for me to do the car the day he took delivery of it. He booked a hotel and stayed over for me to work on the car the following day.

The car arrived to me late one afternoon, so I took a few before pics.

By now the car had just over 100 miles on.

The car had quite a lot of swirls about it, which was unbeknown to the owner or me…

So, the job changed slightly, time was a factor, I had more on my plate than was expected so I started straight away that evening. I wanted to get the car washed and decontaminated that evening, then take the customer to the hotel. That way I could get cracking on working on removing those swirls straight away the following morning!

I didn't take any photos of the wash procedure, I'm sure you've all seen snow foam, buckets and a wash mit before!

Onto removing those swirls then!

Now, a lot of the detail was completed without taking many pics.

Here's a quick gloss over the main points of the detail…

- Two Stage machine polish to swirled areas
- LSP = Swissvax (http://"http://www.miglior.co.uk/swissvax") Crystal Rock wax - Two Coats
- Seals done with Swissvax (http://"http://www.miglior.co.uk/swissvax") Seal Feed
- Wheels sealed and tyres dressed with Swissvax (http://"http://www.miglior.co.uk/swissvax") Pneu
- Exhaust polished and sealed
- Windows Sealed
- Interior Cleaned
- Carpets treated
- Leather protectant applied
- Engine Bay dressed
- Wheel arches cleaned (during wash stages) & Dressed

I have seen worse swirling on new cars. They employ cat woman to do the first wash, as she supplies her own mitts.  :innocent:

Dealer prep on brand new cars is shocking. Had a few recently that were horrendous.

No chance of charging the cost of the detail back to the dealers? I'm pretty surprised too about the swirls.................especially on a lovely car like that! I'd have steam coming out of my ears!  :signLOL:

Can't believe those piano black trims, some of the blame must be left at the factory though.

All sorted now though, nice car.... Needs 8 pots and some discs :happy2:

Did Choppers not request the car to be untouched (other that PDI)? That being said, cars can still pick things up whilst in the factory and during transport.

Guess again. I love seeing an entire write up and that includes pics of brushes, washing, drying etc.

Excellent turnaround. I love the blue colour too and those rims are lush.

Mine was full of swirls even though it was unwashed at dealers. Black door inserts are soft as cheese!!

VW Group really do need to do something about their factory to PDI process. Jay had to do exactly the same detail to my brand new GTD a few weeks ago - I had booked it in for a new car protection but hadn't seen all the scratches, swirls and buffer trails until it was in his workshop. I'm still waiting for the £250 contribution the dealer promised me as compensation!
