Title: iPhone 4 battery life
Post by: Gtiain on April 04, 2012, 05:52:06 pm
My girlfriend has just got one of these (not the 4s) and is a bit unhappy with the battery life. She charged it up fully overnight and went to work at 8. At lunch, around 1pm the battery was at 50%. She hadn't used it at all between these times. Now is this normal or are there some things she can switch off? Thanks in advance.

Has she left apps running? Double tap the home button and a list of icons should pop up at the botton hold onto one of the app icons till a little red circle with a white line comes up then press the red circle to stop the app running  :happy2:

Does she have signal at work? If it's constantly searching that won't help

Leaving wifi or Bluetooth switched on drains the battery as it keeps scanning for devices/networks

No she doesn't have signal at work so that's probably contributing. Is it best to just switch it off when she's at work then?

Yeah either turn it off or stick it on flight mode or whatever it's called. See if that helps  :happy2:

My iPhone 4S lasts the whole day with a lot of heavy use on wifi and 3g. The battery life is not rubbish. Try an android phone with a 4"+ screen, then you will see how crap battery life can really be.

Yes she can. You can take any Apple product purchased from anywhere back to an Apple store. This is the beauty of the product.

Another thing we have noticed is her phone gets really quite hot, a lot more than my 4s. She doesn't really use it that much, she might make a quick phonecall and download a few apps but then it's red hot. Is this to be expected.
