After having my much loved steel grey gti been written off, ( long story, cut it short ) took my misses to doctors, i waited in the car for her, while she went in, switched car off music on, all sudden i could see car, coming at me with high speed!!!!!! :stupid: a crazied older lady driving a automatic slipped off brake, slammed on acceleration reversed full speed into me while i was in it, turned me 90 degrees pushing and spinning me into two other parked cars :sad1: messy is not the word!!!!! the older lady went flying out the car with the impact............ all what mattered was she was ok which she was, you can replace metal, that was the end of that car and the story!!! Always wanted edition 30 so decided on buying a candy white took me over 4 months to find almost gave up on it after spending endless hours on the net!!!! well worth the wait!!!!!! :jumpmove: most importantly come with xenons.

Just couple mods so far pescaras done in anthracite
Black badge
Led sidelights
Led number plate
The next month i will be getting important things done first which is cambelt and water pump change, spark plugs and dv changed, then be looking get stone chips done, h&r springs, RNS510, full s3/r32 brake kit ( brakes seem terrible on edition 30)!!!!!! Then will be looking at the serious mods
-
Which tuning company you gunna go with!?
-
Not sure who to go with yet, will be doing some research in it, before i make the jump!!!! :happy2:
-
Your story in the car park sounds mental mate :stupid: Bad streak of luck there  Glad everyone was okay.
To be fair, you've come out of it rather well in car terms - that Ed30 is stunning. I've always said black or CW in 3 door for the Edition 30 are the hottest two combos' :happy2:
-
Looks great mate. Got a soft spot for CW
-
Looks cool Karl, Very nice.
Didn't realise that the collision was quite that bad, were you hurt?
I'm considering P torque in Wombourne to get a stage 2 map done, they do rolling roads before and after (and are well priced!)
-
Looks nice mate, I also have a candy white ED30 with Xenons :happy2: Took me a year to find the right car
What are your tuning plans? Where are you based?
-
Thanks for comments guys, i was lucky with the smash lets just say good job i was in golf  No serious damage just good kicking!! my back bit if a worry though being self employed, the car held together well. Always nervous now when people parking up and reverse beside me!!!!! I was looking at p torque for stage 1 heard nothing but good reviews :happy2: im based in wolverhampton george,
-
Ed30 looks absolutely perfect mate :happy2:
Don't forget to add the Sharan stubby aerial to your mod list. (under a tenner on eBay)
Other than that your planned mods are bang on! RNS510, H&R's, S3/R32/NQSBBK :notworthy:
(love those Pescys in Anthracite too)
-
Too right monte, :happy2: i will have get rid that terrible aerial may go for shark fin aerial?? I currently have bog standard headunit with no cd changer or ipod connection what would i need to get Rns510 led up and running??? :rolleye:
-
Looks great mate. Got a soft spot for CW
My thoughts exactly :happy2:
-
Having recently bought new pad the car mods have been put on hold with time and money being eaten up with the house!! :sad1: I set about doing the important things first having major service done, cambelt changed and new divert value fitted. Car feels felt alot better with dv done, alot more responsive!!!! I had a full detail booked in with russ detailer first few days i bought the car, i had to wait quite a while to get it done but welll worth the wait!!! :notworthy:
http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,47761.0.html
Next up was get brake upgrade, standard brakes are terrible wanted get them fitted before i get it remapped, bought R32/ S3 fronts and rears had them refurbed by daveb. He did excellent job on these look like new!!!!
(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Fae330%2FGOLDENBOY_019%2F008.jpg&hash=bd2682b7167b8076d19c0d339eb3f3fc9617218a)
The Fronts made massive improvement once bedded in,couldnt stop testing them out at high speeds :jumping:, still waiting to get rears fitted when get time to get it booked in.
(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Fae330%2FGOLDENBOY_019%2F037.jpg&hash=c882903f90136e87a6254310949a8fd8c9994a43)
The car was in need to be lowered and wanted it stiffing up abit cornering,my previous gti had H&R springs fitted ride height and quality was perfect so stuck to what i knew and had them fitted to the car 30mm drop, excuse p*ss poor photos will get some done properly, Having had the springs fitted with the heavier brakes on the front you do notice the extra weight on pot holes but this was to be expected.
(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Fae330%2FGOLDENBOY_019%2F021.jpg&hash=4c7b45e088bfa45f7c7a8d867f43f035189946d7)

The next mod up is twintake or ITG which i cant decide on????? and stage 1 remap
-
Brakes look great. Did you go for alloy Cupra/TT lower arms to offset some of the extra weight of the bigger setup?
-
Absolutely stunning car, mate. Always loved Candy Eddies.
Nice subtle mods too.

how do i look into lower arms to offset the extra weight???
Absolutely stunning car, mate. Always loved Candy Eddies.
Nice subtle mods too.
Thanks for kind words mate!!!
-
Leon Cupra lower arms are a straight swap and are alloy so lighter
Audi TT MkII lower arms are the same but with the added benefit of adjustable ball joints for extra camber (extra grip) they are 10mm wider in track which may cause issues with clearance if youre very low
Superpro are due to release a lower arm the same as the Cupra one (standard width) but with adjustable ball joint.
-
Sounds good to me , Im going to look into this. :drinking: mike
-
Love the look of this, very nice.
-

Nice motor looks virtually identical to Dan Paynes old ED30.
-
looking good mate :congrats: :congrats:
-
Congrats on your purchase from a fellow Candy ED30 owner (Audi Dolphin Grey colour wheels, looks very similar to yours), but in 5Dr, took me 6 months to find mine.
:happy2:
-
cheers all for the kind words :happy2:

Hi tamiyoman, the wait was worth it, glad i went for candy white, not seen another one on the road yet , how you got factory extras on yours i dont know :rolleye:
-
Recenty had rear R32/S3 brakes i noticed the difference striaght away even though i was told not to both because it would be a waste of time, im yet to found dust shields to fit the rears though. I also had 10mm H&r spacers fitted, the stance looks loads better!!!
(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Fae330%2FGOLDENBOY_019%2F055.jpg&hash=1451e734673a1e281dfe24016764b037c40d2d4c)

I had genuine set monza 2 alloys for a while from my previous gti, these were refurbed at A1 in wolverhampton diamond cut black inserts never used, done awesome job again, had bit time on my hands thought i would give them a try on the car before i plan to sell them.
(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Fae330%2FGOLDENBOY_019%2F019.jpg&hash=31722ad46fb75e39452831dfe92aaa636013f438)
-
Do i keep the monzas?????? :rolleye:
-
Pescaras look awesome.....but so do the Monza's!
Keep both then you can change your look! :happy2:
-
Im in two minds carlo what to do, i do like look monzas, always had soft spot for them on mk5 and love the look of them on the car. But selling them would free up cash for future mods, coilovers, rns-510, remap, twintake. :scared:
-
Both look brilliant!
-
People will think its a standard Gti with the Monza's...but they do look great and are miles easier to clean than the Pescys.
Pescys are awesome but as I said, they can be a PITA to keep clean.
-
Love the CW ED30. sell the monza`s as it does look more gti the ed
-
def get rid of the monza's, dont look a patch on the ed 30 wheels !
-
pescy's for me! monza's look great but imo ed30 should stay on the pescys. great looking car tho mate, love the stance and CW is just standard droooooool!!
-
Finally got round to getting the car remapped after hours of research on here, i went for revo stage 1 and wasn't disappointed i have smile everytime I get in it now!! it has completely changed the car feels alive now!! And Still silky smooth. Also had ITG induction kit fitted sametime made big gains hitting 300bhp mark i also sprayed engine cover tidy up the engine bay little. After getting Russ to detail the car again after worst winter ever, I had mate mine take few photos, weather was terrible!!! :stupid: heavy rain but that didn't stop him. :happy2:

Love the no plate look. Always looks immense.
I love the wheel colour still
Looks a superb CW example, great shots to showcase it :happy2:
Stance is perfect too. I'll have to look at getting something similar with the rear drop with the coilovers on the Audi once my new wheels are on
-
Car looks great mate, what colour are the wheels?

Thanks for comments gents its much appreciated!!
Are your front windows tinted?
The front windows arent tinted mate, must be lighting that make them darker than thay are The back 3 windows are factory tints though.
I think the next mod is to get decent rns-510 unit, a trip down to great yarmouth to see eddie is well over due!!
-
Candy white makes me weak
Love it mate

Beautiful car , thats the only Mk5 GTI I would change mine for , a CW Eddie 3 door. Just perfect. :happy2:
