Title: 'Thank You' areas on site....
Post by: RedRobin on May 11, 2009, 02:59:14 pm
....

I can appreciate that you may not want 'Thank You' options everywhere on site but there are some very valid (IMO) times when a 'Thank You' is very appropriate in Random Chat. Discussions in Random Chat are often car related or even 'Please help' subject matter.

For example, I have recently posted a new topic asking for karting advice and have recieved help worthy of giving a 'Thank You'.

I submit this for your consideration.

Thank You! :drinking:

Thats just what i was thinking, you dont get the postie knocking on your door with a red apple every time someone presses the thank you button

Why cant you say a simple thank you, I have found it strange some members even asking to be thanked  :chicken:
Are some of you addicted to seeing you total go up.

you can thank me for this if you want, its up there on the left.  :innocent:     :signIWS:

+1. Just a waste of time really. I don't see what advantage it is bringing to the forum/the members. Its quite easy to see how reputable a member is just from looking at his recent or previous posts.

Is it meant to be a motivator for people to post useful advice/comments? Surely that should be the ethos behind members attitudes anyway.

Just don't get it really  :signIWS: :signIWS:

But if we're going to keep the system, then I agree with the suggestion in this thread completely.

Crikey, it's not a big deal and I, for one, do write and post a thanks in a reply.

I agree it will have some merrits, when it has some time behind it, i think lets just give it sometime and see how it progresses. I think part of the reason you cant thank people in  random chat, is because you dont have a post count in there and some threads and posts get removed.

....If you re-read my original post you'll see that my raising this subject is biassed towards giving and not receiving Thank You's.

This works better on DW as it state's who has given the 'Thank you' hence no need to post.
