Title: Advice Required on fitting Votex rear spoiler to MKV GT TDI golf
Post by: crimson on May 11, 2009, 03:13:58 pm
Has anyone ever done this to replace the stock spoiler that comes with the GT TDI?

I've read a few horror stories on this site regarding stealers making a mess of people's spoilers when trying to replace the high level brake light, as the spoiler is bonded to the car

Is it best to levae well alon or can the spoiler be installed without any hassle?

I've checked online for a fitting guide, but have not located one so far.  :rolleye:

I thought all non GTi/R32 models had a smaller standard one which is part of the actual tailgate.

The GTi/R32 spoilers are both the same and are bonded over the standard one.

Just a case of buying one from the stealers and having a decent bodyshop fit it I'd imagine.

Yeah you're right dude, there is a smaller stock one on the GT TDI and it does seem to be part of the tailgate on closer inspection. So I just have to bond it over the standard one? Cool
