Title: thing i would of learned my lesson with the dealers

i had my golf in the dealer today to change the cam belt and also do the rear vw boot handle..
when i looked at the car tonight at the dealers the vw badge isn't flush with the boot itssticking out about 3mm all the way round told them i wanted it sorting as it wasn't like that when it went in...then they tried to say the bill was £543...i don't thing so i got quoted £450 all in so thats the price i am paying which they said ok to

is that just for the cambelt???

are they sorting the boot for you????

i forget about labour prices being different.. shocks me sometimes what u guys get quoted, and I work fo VW.lol  :chicken:

hi mate,

did you have the flat type badge before? (all one piece)

the dealers may have replaced it with the newer version which is 2 piece and does stick out about 3mm if i remember correctly  :happy2:

Caz it is £325 for the cam belt
Ileft the car with them to sort it out-the badge was flat so think your right Dubway dan they must of put the later one in but it doesn't look right at all

Stealers are being very very nad now with the recession on atm.


My mums merc, she took it in for a servicing - and they said "ohh and btw, your 2 rear tyres need changing - would you like us to change them £300 a tyre - £70 fitting."


£670 total  :surprised: :surprised: :surprised: :surprised:


I told my mum, no way do they need changing, so she said no.

She took it to a local garage next door and they said, they wont need changing for another 6 months. Come back then and will do them for you at £150 a tyre and free fitting

There is still about 6 mil left of tread on !  :surprised:
