Hello,
Recently brought a cw golf gti and the cambelt/water pump needs doing.
I booked the car in yesterday for today to a local friendly garage after purchasing the cambelt kit tensioner and waterpump myself.
I did advise them yesterday to source the VW engine mount bolts and not to re-use them and I'm happy if they need the car longer to get the parts in which he said was fine.
When dropping the car of today he said the bolts will not need changing as he has done cambelt changes loads of times and has never changed them !?
After reading some horror stories on here regarding the engine mount bolts i told him for piece of mind I still want them changed so he rang me today 5 hours later saying I should have said the crank pulley bolts which he has ordered in for tomorrow.
Now the question is, after reading some threads I understand crank pulley bolts can be changed but that still leaves the engine mount bolts?
Has anyone got any part numbers or anything so I can just source them myself or tell me where to go from here as tomorow he will be doing the cambelt change re-using the same bolts.
Or is this okay?
Thanks,
Jag

Anyone out there know anything about this as it's being fitted tomorrow?

Peace of mind get the bolts changed, call VW and ask them the parts number, they are only about £1 each anyway, but nest to get them changed as VW recommend them changed at CB change along woith waterpump

Engine mount bolts
You need
N 019 502 13 (X2)
N 910 296 02 (X1)
N905 969 06 (X1)
N 105 524 02 (X2)

I did read somewhere that the bolts that hold the engine mounts are stretch bolts so therefor should not be re-used.
