Title: The Grand National
Post by: MC71 on April 14, 2012, 02:38:57 pm
So peeps, it's that time of the year again when complete horse racing novices (like myself) waste their hard earned on a nag/nags that:-

1: no one has ever heard off
2: will not finish
3: was picked for the name alone
Or my favourite,
4: you got it in the sweepstakes at work!

My horses are

Rare Bob
Mon Mome
Shakalakaboomboom

And

Always Right - That's one for the wife  :signLOL:

Wish me luck, either a new TB Miltek or the kids starve!   :happy2:

It's an absolutely vile event that should have been banned many years ago.

Does anyone have any tips so i can place a bet  :innocent:

I think it should be a case of the winning Horse/Jockey survive and the rest get turned into Steak & Glue

Would be interesting then :happy2:

Oh well. No winner for me. 3 fell, 1 finished out of my picks! Good job I don't do this sort of thing as a living, would be homeless very soon and divorced. Maybe next year!

.
I was backing Seabass with the girl jockey but didn't place any bets - She rode extremely well though and came 3rd.

Two horses had to be destroyed and I think one of them (Synchronized?) was the horse that had spooked at the tape well before the start and had to be retrieved. Seemed a gentle tempered horse - Jockey was 'AP'.

Right then, got a couple of quid left over in the old online account so heading over to the F1 thread to get some advice on what the finishing order will be for the race in the morning.
