Title: Air bag light, mot fail?

Hi Guys,

Exactly as the topic says. Its bein done on wednesday n need to know if it needs doing asap.

Yep, iirc any dash lights showing for error is a failure!

See if anyone local to you for vag com to clear code

Supplementary Restraint Systems (SRS), which in essence is airbags, comes into the test officially May 2012.

At the moment a faulty light will only warrant an advisory but in a few monthstimeit will be a fail.

Supplementary Restraint Systems (SRS), which in essence is airbags, comes into the test officially May 2012.

At the moment a faulty light will only warrant an advisory but in a few monthstimeit will be a fail.

Surely it will only result in a fail if the airbag light remains on. Because I have Recaros my light stays on just an extra second or two as the startup system does all its checks. And there's no beep.

I hope so too Robin, otherwise  I have a nice green set of RS4 seats available for someone soon!
Have been told by my garage that as long as the light and warning goes out should be fine.

Thats changed, an airbag light on all the time is a fail as of the 1st april 2012, had a long talk with VOSA last wednesday about this, they are getting between 4/500 calls aday about the new changes :surprised:, sorry mate if your test centre mot it to the letter of the law your car will fail, depends if there up to date or not

....When you say "warning" I'm thinking that's the audible 'bleep' warning. In which case, I no longer hear a warning (and not all OAP's are deaf!  :grin:).
