I've recently had a brand new set of KW V1 fitted to my GTI. The garage left them set farily high, so I went to lower them at the weekend. The fronts were no problem, the rears however I can't figure it out... There's the top mount on the spring, with the threaded section mounted to the car, and the purple adjusting collar. However when I try to turn the collar to lower/raise the height, both parts turn together. It looks like the threaded section isn't actually secured to the car in anyway, is this right? The only way I can think of adjusting it otherwise it to remove it from the car, which surely isn't the case?
I've probably missed something really obvious, but any help will be greatly appreciated.
Cheers

Need to take the springs out as the top is held in with the pressure of the spring.

That's the answer I wasn't hoping for. Cheers for the fast reply though.
How do you get the springs out? I tried to but couldn't get the hub etc to drop low enough, even with the shock absorber unbolted?

Haven't with mine yet but I'd imaging shock and remove arb bolt

I never removed spring when adjusting my V3's on my R32.. though i did undo the rear shock top mount(2bolts) and pull the trailing arm to reduce the load on the spring to make it easier to adjust the platform...

Cheers for the replies. I'll have another attempt at the weekend hopefully.

Just remove the bolt that secures the bottom arm to the hub then the bottom arm/wishbone can be pulled down that's the part the bottom of the spring sits on only takes mins to do with the wheel off
