Title: Anthracite Assassin 2 Day Detail
Post by: vRS Carl on April 17, 2012, 12:51:55 pm
Also posted this in my build thread but thought i would post here for those that may not see it in there :happy2: Mods apologies and please delete if i am not allowed a duplicate post :ashamed:

Recently gave the car a good seeing to for 2 days. Still didn't manage to get the finish i wanted all over as the weather beat me to it. The process used though was

PW Rinse
AF Citrus Power applied and left to dwell for 5 minutes
Bilberry wheel cleaner applied and then rinsed. Wheels are coated with FK1000p and as such the crap just PW's off. I only had to agitate a couple of areas with a brush.
PW Rinse
Snowfoam which was left to dwell for 20mins.
Fuel Cap, Badges, Grilles and door shuts all cleaned with PB APC and detailing brush
PW Rinse
Snowfoamed again
Washed with Lambswool Mitt and AF Lather using 2BM
PW Rinse
Tardis applied (only needed on 2 spots)
Clayed
Dried using ultra plush drying towel
2 Stage Machine polish first using Yellow 3M Pad (Orange compounding on the roof) with Menz SF2500 3.02 and then followed by 3M Blue Pad with Menz SF3000
IPA Wipe down
Engine cleaned with PB APC and dressed with 303 Aerospace
Leather seats cleaned with Miglior Leather Cleaner
Interior trim/plastics cleaned with PB APC and dressed with AF Revive
Complete hoover removing all mats and rear seats (lower part only) and false boot floor.
Exhaust polished with Autosol
Tyres scrubbed with APC and dressed with 303 Aerospace
Paint sealed with the following:
Swissvax Shield - 1 x layer
Gtechniq C2 - 2 x layers
GTechniq C1.5 - 3 x layers
Car wiped down with Swissvax Micro polishing towel to remove any smears etc.
Glass cleaned with AF Crystal. (No need to seal as the Nanolex Ultra that i applied in October last year is still beading like Day 1)

I know a few will see the protection as excessive and probably a waste of products. But it's my own car so i can afford to be excessive with it. Also as the car won't be cleaned properly now, save for the odd wash, till August then i wanted good protection for the summer. In August the car will be cleaned again but i will be going even more excessive as it then won't be cleaned at all till the following April.
