I have a laser blue golf and the black side bumpers front and rear are looking a little faded could do with spending a little on it to smarten it up.
also the door handles would be nice.
anyone know of a cost? i know it can vary... or anyone who does it?
thanks

Hi, it's a must mod on a gti! Got mine done for £320! Not door handles! Where are you based?
-
ask your nearest garage. no more than £400 ex door handles

I paid £100 to have the rear valance done, that was prep and paint. http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,44973.msg519812.html#msg519812

i have just been quoted £250 to have a side skirt painted (already in primer as R32 version) and the rear valance smoothed down and sprayed - the same was as digger leaving part of it black.
was about to start a post to see if that was a good price or not until i read this thread, still wondering now to be honest

I had my rear valance smoothed and painted leaving the lower portion original. Cost me £120 and was top noch.

To be fair they have to flat it, then plastic primer, then two-pack primer to make sure it's an even surface all before the base coat and then the lacquer, materials and labour £100 is fair IMO...

I paid £300 for rear bumper, side skirts, and front splitter. that was sanding, priming and coding.
All depends where you go. But I was more than happy with the work

well if it is costing people just over £100 for the rear bumper including the prep then surely it cant cost that much to do a pre-primed side skirt?
wondering if the place just wasnt that cheap - although i hear the work is good. Anyone know a decent but reasonable place in Essex/Herts area?
Sorry to highjack the thread slightly OP - hopefully helps you too :happy2:

Try and go to a place where you know the work is good over price within reason. As not a easy job and if people go cheap you could have problems with the paint flaking etc if bumper not detextured correctly.

Does anyone have a recommendation in the Surrey area?
last place I tried (to fix an insurance claim) suggested it wouldn't work well, which I decided therefore they would not be the right place to get it done..
