Seen them all over tbh.

I've put mine on the lid of the ash tray in the centre console. Looks like it is ment to be there!

Put where it is supposed to go. No one else can see it though. Also have my number on the strip on the passenger side of the car just after the EDITION 30 sign.

To be honest mate yes it's a daft place but that's what they say. Mk4 plaque was there too if im not mistaken. Have been a few peeps on here trying to get duplicates done so you can have one in correct place and one somewhere else ie center console, dash etc. From VW something like £90!!!!!!

i was thinking either ashtray lid or on flat section between gear stick and cup holders. on the door where recommended means no one can see it unless door is wide open.

Mine is sitting right behind the gearstick. I inherited it like that.

Had no idea you were left to your own devices on where to put them.

If you have a look at this post, the first pic shows you the correct place (like MC71's photo)

It's not a great example in the link but you can make out the measurements if you tilt your head  :laugh:
